When trying to make changes to behaviour, especially health behaviour, some factors impact our success rates more than others.
So what are the key things to focus on! Read below for the two most important factors in behaviour change!:

The most important factor is self-efficacy. Simply put, this is your belief that you can accomplish the change you're wanting to make. That's why setting realistic goals is so important.
Your belief in your ability to make the change is the number one, most important factor in behaviour change. Positive mindset and believing in your abilities is the key to any behaviour change. If you don't believe you can make a change, if you don't believe that you're able to accomplish something, then you most likely won't.
So start believing in yourself, and what you're trying to achieve, it is a key to your own success. This isn't just positive motivational cliche quotes, it is research supported. Believe. In. Yourself!
The second most important factor is a support network. It doesn't have to be large, you just need people who know your goals, know what changes you want to make, and will help support you in reaching these.
They don't need to be getting up at 5am to run with you, they don't need to change their eating with you, they just need to be there to listen, discuss and support you on your journey.
Just knowing that you have someone supporting you, will do wonders for your self-efficacy! It's really a double positive for trying to reach your goals!
So the take-away? Believe in yourself, and rely on those around you, who you trust, to support your goals!
You've got this!
