Combating Self-Doubt and Negative Self-Talk

This is a topic that we are super passionate about, and we've both seen the positive benefits of improving this aspect of our thinking.

Combating self-doubt through mindful practice and decreasing negative self-talk.

We often underestimate how much our mindset can impact our health, performance and quality of life, and we underestimate how much we fall into these negative talk habits. Simple things like telling ourselves we can't do something, that we are going to fail, that we can't make the run, we can't kick the goal, we can't lift the weight. These become self-fulfilling prophecies, believing we will fail causes us to fail. The power of positivity is huge, so how can we get rid of this self-doubt?:

  1. Surround yourself with good people and energy

  2. Cultivate your self-worth

  3. Love yourself for who you are

  4. Use positive self-talk

  5. Affirm yourself whenever you can or need

  6. Journal your thoughts

  7. Reflect on your achievements

  8. Practice compassion towards yourself

  9. Don't compare yourself to others

  10. Have a good support network

  11. Limit social media

  12. Find activities that make you feel accomplished

  13. Reflect on the behaviours and attitudes that bring you down

As always, this list isn't extensive and is just the beginning, but these behaviours can assist in improving our attitudes toward ourself and improving our self-talk.
